Ancient Chinese Proverb: "Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles." This means that true wisdom comes from combining book learning with real-world experience.

I've lived and worked in a lot of places, worked in many different industries, and studied a vast range of disciplines (science, tech, business, history, and biology, philosophy, influence, persuasion, and even music LOL just to name a few).

1. Between you and the corporation? It's not "until death do we part"! LOL. It's more like the corporation you work for is a vehicle for you to catch a ride to get to your final destination. You might have to change buses or change flights. Except, in this instance, you don't pay to catch a ride—you get paid to catch a ride - you just need to contribute to the forward propulsion of the vehicle.

2. Pure technical skills and hard skills can only get you so far. You will need to develop your other skills: people skills, business skills, communication skills, and negotiation skills etc etc. When you are 22, fresh out of university, hard skill is all you have. But as you advance, further and higher, higher and further, your technical skills shrink into a smaller and smaller portion of what actually makes you successful.

3. No one was born with any of these skills. Anyone how has these skills? They learned them. Anyone can learn these skills. But these skills are NOT taught in formal schooling, nor taught in formal corporate training seminars. Never has been and never will be. It's part of the selection process: see who is willing and able to figure it out, on their own!

4. Confidence does not come out of thin air. Your own authentic confidence can only be developed by busting your own fears. 

5. When you refuse to help yourself, why should others help you? But when you are helping yourself, others will come out of the woodwork trying to help you. This may not be the case in all countries, but it's very much so in the US of A!

6. Learning insights and wisdom produces a high; helping others to learn produces a bigger high. Overcoming your own fears produces the biggest, highest, and longest-lasting high. And from this sort of high, you don't crash. If you are going to play an addictive game, play the game of "Never-Ending Upward Spiral Personal Evolution." It's addictive, and you never lose: if you succeed, you win; if you "fail"? You learn something!

7. Sharing wisdom with others, creates the most genuine, deepest and longest lasting bond between humans.
